Set up my old rebuilt pc with win 7 starter and Ubuntu 12.04
Have the setup cds for UT2004 - can I use them to install it on my linux pc?

Howdy Pilgrim I have a dual boot win Xp and Ubuntu 12.4 love the "Precise Pangolin. I had ut installed in xp tried to run it in ubuntu also tried wine but it always asked for a reinstall stating that i needed to re install with the passcode nums, so i never got it to work i think u shud try to install right from 12.4 not wine OR windows i thjink there izza linux installer on disk. luv to see u suceed where i failed
Endevour to Persevere. R U dual boot or from a usb or cd? RICH

Jokers here. I read your post. I came across a listing that may be of help for you.
Yes you can use the cd's but only if yours contains the linux installer .sh

It's best to copy the linux installer onto your desktop, & then run the installer from there.

here is a link that will further help you install and then chmod the etc/{file} for sound addition.

Thanks Rich - I installed win 7 starter version first - it's a dual boot situation.
The linux installer is on the Disc 1 as far as I can tell.

Thanks Joker - I'll check it out. Learned DOS starting with DOS 4.1 but not sure how linux works - need to spend some time and get up to speed. Also need to get a second monitor for my second machine - used my Viewsonic VX2235wm monitor temporarily hooked up to it just to get it setup. System was put together with my old mb and video card, a spare hd, a new case and ps.
