Post subject:  ut problems

ok so for the last cupple days when i try to get on the server it kicks me out of the game and says this

UT2004 Build UT2004_Build_[2005-11-23_16.22]

OS: Windows XP 5.1 (Build: 2600)
CPU: AuthenticAMD Unknown processor @ 2059 MHz with 1023MB RAM
Video: NVIDIA GeForce 6800 GS (8198)

General protection fault!

i'm not sure what to do it get it working again... any answers?

Is this for ANY sever - right. it sounds like an error in the game not the server. Try getting on to another server and see if it says the same. This has happened to me before.

When this has happened to me - it was missing a file to load properly. The only fix was to uninstall the game. Then delete the UT2004 folder (C:\ut2004) completely. Then reinstall UT2004 and the appropriate patches up to v. 3369. *Make sure your disc is very clean before you install; a small scratch or dirt can cause a file to not load properly.* This was the only way I could get it to work. Another less obtrusive possible fix is if your running Windows defender - uninstall defender completely then try to play online. It sucks to have to uninstall /re-install but that worked for me..........let me know

well it has done this to me on the [IGS[ server to me before but now it looks like it's only on the {aba} server

Hallo!

Hmm, maybe some of those new files that were put on the server are causing the crash. I definitely don't recommend reinstalling the game unless you've run out of all other options. (Such a hassle). When does it occur though? As you're loading the game, connecting to the server, playing on the server, or...?

well i tried it and it did not seem to do much it still crashed right when i was about to get in the game.
